What To Expect In Our Ballroom & Latin Class
In this class you will learn the basic steps and techniques of most of the Ballroom and Latin dance styles. Our classes are great fun and taught in a friendly and supportive setting. It’s an enjoyable way to learn to dance together.
What Alternative Styles Do We Teach?
- Social Foxtrot: The social version of the classic foxtrot, the perfect starter dance for a beginner and your first stepping stone to learning the Ballroom foxtrot.
- Swing Jive: A simplified and slightly slower version of the Ballroom Jive with less energetic movements.
- Salsa: A lively and energetic dance with rhythmic hip movements and quick footwork, often performed to music with Afro-Cuban rhythms.
- Argentine Tango: One of the most intimate dances, this simple, yet elegant dance is well known for the flicks between the legs (Gancho), swivels (Ocho) and foot sweeps (Barrida).
- Merengue: Merengue is an upbeat dance characterised by simple steps with rhythmic hip movements. It is easy and fun for everyone to learn.

Although it is not essential you come along with a partner, it is highly recommended. Whilst we always welcome individuals who join our class, please be aware that we can not provide a partner for you to dance with. Therefore, any individuals are encouraged to partner with each other, but if you prefer to dance solo this is also perfectly acceptable.
